Grimes, NA Session 228, retired
as Senior Captain from the University of Delaware Police after more than 30 year
of service in July 2011. He had served as Police Services
Commander, Administrative Officer, Shift Commander, Training Manager, Criminal
Investigator, and Sr. Assistant Director for Parking and Special Services.
He
started his career at the University of Delaware as a Student Security Aide
in 1979.
A
member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jim served on the Delaware State
Board as Vice President for two terms and is a Past President of F.O.P.
Lodge 7. His education includes a Masters in Public Administration
from the University of Delaware. He maintained certifications from the Cooper
Institute as a Police Fitness Instructor, AHA BCLS Instructor, National
Safety Council Defensive Driving Instructor, and Monadnock corp.
Baton and Weaponless Defense Instructor. He was in the inaugural
class of Master Police Instructors for the DE. Council on Police Training
and certified numerous police instructors for the police academies in Delaware.
A
volunteer for Special Olympics, Jim has participated in the Law Enforcement
Torch Run and the Lewes Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics
Delaware for the past 20 years.
He is currently
working for G4S Secure Solutions, USA as Project Manager at SallieMae
Bank.

Sgt. Mark Lewis, Session 233, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and assigned as Commander of the Administrative Division.
Easton Police Department
Lt. Michael E. Henry, Session 228, retired from the Easton Police Department effective July 15, 2011, and was appointed Captain/Deputy Chief of Police with the Hurlock Maryland Police Department effective July 14, 2011.

Douglas (Doug) Cloman, 206th Session, announces he has retired as Director of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Corr Services Internal Investigative Unit effective 10-01-2010 after 30 years of service. He adds "I beat my classmate Bobby Cummings to retirement! I could never beat him in a run."
